Tate Electrical Services Ltd is proud to have successfully completed a 33kW rooftop Solar PV installation at Hollybank Hospital, Havant, supporting Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in reducing energy costs and advancing its commitment to achieving Net Zero.
The installation comprises 55 JA Solar 600W photovoltaic panels paired with a 30kW Solis three-phase string inverter, providing an estimated 21,039kWh of clean renewable electricity each year. The system is expected to generate approximately 25% of the site’s annual electricity demand, with around 78% of the electricity generated being consumed on site.
Delivered within a live healthcare environment, the project was carefully planned to ensure minimal disruption to patients, staff and day-to-day hospital operations. Works included the installation of the solar PV array, AC and DC containment systems, inverter installation, grid connection, testing, commissioning and full MCS-compliant certification.
The system is forecast to deliver first-year electricity bill savings of approximately £4,261, with lifetime utility bill savings of around £163,647. In addition to the significant financial savings, the installation is expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 5 tonnes of CO₂ each year, making a valuable contribution to the Trust’s long-term sustainability and decarbonisation strategy.
Hollybank Hospital is another successful renewable energy project delivered by Tate Electrical as part of its growing portfolio of NHS Solar PV installations, helping healthcare organisations lower their carbon footprint while reducing operational energy costs for many years to come.
