Tate Electrical Services Ltd is proud to have successfully completed a 26.39kW rooftop Solar PV installation at Jubilee House, Portsmouth, supporting Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in reducing energy costs and progressing towards its Net Zero objectives.
The installation comprises 58 JA Solar 455W photovoltaic panels coupled with a 25kW Solis three-phase inverter, providing an estimated 17,366kWh of clean renewable electricity each year. The system is expected to supply approximately 38% of the building’s annual electricity demand, with around 72% of the energy generated being consumed on site.
Delivered within a live NHS environment, the project was carefully planned to minimise disruption to staff and building occupants while maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship. The works included the installation of the solar PV array, AC and DC containment systems, inverter installation, grid connection, testing, commissioning and full MCS-compliant certification.
The installation is forecast to deliver first-year electricity bill savings of approximately £3,354, with lifetime utility bill savings of around £127,550. In addition to the financial benefits, the system is expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 4 tonnes of CO₂ every year, making a meaningful contribution to the Trust’s sustainability strategy.
Jubilee House is another successful project delivered as part of Tate Electrical’s growing renewable energy portfolio across the NHS estate, helping healthcare organisations reduce their environmental impact while benefiting from reliable, low-carbon energy for decades to come.
